Catholic Mother Jessica Hanna, Who Chose Life Despite Cancer, Dies

Jessica Hanna, a dedicated Catholic mother of four children and a strong pro-life advocate, passed away on April 6. Her husband, Lamar, took to her Instagram account, where she was known as @blessed_by_cancer, to share the heartbreaking news with her followers.

Lamar wrote, “At 8:02 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, my beloved wife Jessica peacefully departed this life. She had received the last rites and blessings from Father Canon Sharpe on Thursday. On Saturday, she was surrounded by our loving family as she peacefully breathed her last breath. Despite her valiant fight, the cancer proved too aggressive. However, Jessica faced her final days with remarkable courage and unwavering faith. We ask for your prayers as we navigate through this difficult time.”

A Mother’s Sacrifice

Jessica Hanna’s story touched many hearts as she made the courageous decision to prioritize the life of her unborn child over her battle with cancer. Hanna began contributing her pro-life testimony to EWTN Pro-Life Weekly in 2022. She was 14 weeks pregnant with her youngest son, Thomas, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer two years prior. She was recommended to undergo an abortion by several doctors, but she denied.

She encouraged her followers to see her Good Friday through her words, which served as a tribute to her eternal faith and resilience in the face of adversity.
