18-year-old Sophie Lekiachvili, a student at Lakeside High School, tragically passed away in a single-car collision this past weekend, triggering an awful series of events. The incident happened on Saturday just after midnight along Oak Grove Road near Kirkland Drive, leaving the community in shock and confusion. Two other children involved in the collision are still on the road to recovery. Still, Sophie passed away from her injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital immediately after the crash, according to DeKalb County school authorities. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
