The pedestrian who was tragically killed on Tuesday on Interstate 87 (I-87) has been named as Erika Gargan, a 36-year-old native of Otsego County, New York. The collision happened near Woodbury, specifically in the thruway’s center southbound lane, according to state police reports. Gargan was on the road when she was hit by a 2021 Honda CR-V at around one in the morning. The collision occurred in nearby Exits 15A and 16. Erika Gargan tragically passed away from her wounds and was declared dead at the site.
