On January 26th, 2024, at around 12:26pm two teenagers, 16-year-old Robert Boston and 17-year-old Monterio Williams, lost their lives in front of their downtown high school. The shooting happened in the 00-99 block of Madison and North Wabash, Loop neighborhood, Downtown Chicago.
Upon arrival, police officers found both boys unconscious on the sidewalk. Monterio, who suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and hip, was given CPR but was pronounced dead on arrival at Northwestern Hospital. Robert, with gunshot wounds to the chest, was rushed to Northwestern Hospital but was also pronounced deceased.
A 25-year-old female, not shot but bruised by bullet fragments, walked into Northwestern ER. The incident occurred just after the teens were let out of Innovation High School.
Two cars, a Blue Infinity and a Ford, pulled up, and multiple offenders wearing ski masks fired shots at them before fleeing south down Wabash. This is the second deadly school shooting this week in Chicago.
Arrest Made?
After the event, nearby streets were shut down. The attackers got away and were last spotted going south on Wabash Avenue. Police officials assured that the situation was thought to be contained, and there was no apparent danger in the vicinity.
